Hello cousins, 2nd cousins....family members. Because I keep asking Jodi where everyone fits into the family, I'll start there. My Grandpa was James Newton (Jim) Ladd, married to Earnestine, who had Debbey, Sandi, Jim, and Jodi. I'm Debbey's oldest, and I have 2 younger sisters, Mandi and Teddi who are both married and Mandi has 2 boys, Night (10) and Seth (7). Teddi has 6 kids, Haillie (12) Hollie (11) Haven (6) Harley (5) Hazel (4) and Havanna (2). I have 3 step- children (they are 28, 25, 21) and 2 step grandchildren (ages 5 and 1). I run the Arkansas Optometric Association and my husband, Dennis, runs the Arkansas Beverage Association (soft drinks, not liquor).
I'm ready to see everyone this fall. I have lots of "remember whens" from part of the family - although mostly I don't remember "when" --I was just told about it - like Dave and Donna and Cathi babysitting me when I was a baby - and squirted me in the face with the bottle to make me laugh. Ahh, good times. Maybe by the time we all get together in September, Aunt Sandi will tell the story of what she and cousins Cathi and Donna were doing on the night I was born.

It's my understanding, that we have all been sworn to secrecy. I'm sure the "Airmen" won't tell as they are surely gone by now. Unless of course Sandi kept in touch. And your mom has not yet forgiven us for missin the birthin of that baby. But ashes were meant to be eaten that night. And that's all we can say about that.
Right girls!!!!!!
But we needed some excitement on the blog! Besides, Sandi tells the best stories..... and I don't think I ever really heard the real story. Please.....
Sweet, sweet Vicki, I'm going to have to step in at this point. You see...I know a portion of this story and it's just not something people like you and I can handle. Sandi tried to tell me but after hearing only part of it, I had to make her stop...it was like looking into the sun. The Ladd women who came before us...they created mischief on a level second only to the stories one might hear in mythological tales. The power of said mischief was not bestowed onto us...we can't handle it Vicki--we can't! For your own good, I beg of you...please don't ask again.
Jodi
Just the abbreviated version? But make sure the ashes part gets left in!!!
Oh yeah little pumpkins...I'll tel the story....but not til the reunion! And by the way VICKI, if you could have waited just one more stinkin' day to come in to this world, we probably would never have been caught. Course Donna was pretty hysteriacal and I doubt that could have ever been contianed. And yeah, we were pretty darn cool! Love ya, Aunt Sandi
Ya know, some of us up North have NO idea what y'all are talkin' about....Don't you guys feel a LITTLE guilty about teasing the rest of us??? I'm just saying.....
Don't make me go to higher sources...because I will!
I cannot wait to see you all!!
Well Cory I'll give you the short version. The night Vicki was born, (my first neice), Cathi and Donna MADE me go out to meet some guys at the Air Force base in Blythville Arkansas. SOMEONE had too much to drink....and some lame brain said if you ate a cigarette, they could not get your real reading on a breathalizer, and SOMEONE ate all the cigeratte butts AND the ashes in an ash tray that just happened to be in the Blytheville jail. I remember some judge mad because he was called to the station to decide what to do with us, and the last thing I remember was that AUDRY, SHIRLEY AND EARNIE had a search party out for us when Vicki decided to pop into the world in the wee morning hours.....and no one knew where CATHI DONNA and poor little innocent SANDI could possibly be! And that's just the short version!! Sandi
p.s. Don't say a word to Donna and Cathi, they both have problems with long-term memory issues.
But, Cory, you have to HEAR the story and watch Sandi's face while she tells it - she is the BEST storyteller ever. Of course, it's also a lot of fun to watch Donna and Cathi's face as Sandi unwinds the tale. Look forward to September!
Cousin Donna!!! Say it ain't so! The only cousins I really ever spent a decent amount of time with were Donna & David. I thought David might be a little naughty -- he did have the "Woodstock" album -- which I am REALLY sorry for borrowing and NEVER giving back! You let a 13 year old borrow something, what do you expect, right??
I thought Donna was the good one! If there's more, I don't even want to know! I thought at least I'd have the Garrett side to claim as normal! Please tell me she was an instigator & not the....um....other person.......
And does Aunt Shirley know about this???
Certainly the stuff legends are made of! I can't wait for the long version.
Anyone who believes that Sandi,Donna or Cathi were sweet young ladies will be in for a surprise. The bigger problem was none of them had enough sense to learn from experiences. I must admit Cathi has matured a little but there is little hope for Sandi and Donna's eyes still sparkle at the thought of trouble, pranks and practical jokes.
Great Scott Batman, would you look at the feedback the story of your birth has generated!
Debbey...I resemble that remark! And by the way, boy, does Cathi ever got YOU fooled. Humph!
