A line from Audrey

Hi all you darling little cousins. I think I am the now Matriarch of this crazy mixed up Ladd family. I have come full circle, I left my native Arkansas as a very Young girl and returned here for my retirement. We (my husband Bob) hereafter referred to as the Mr. have been in wedded bliss for 23 years (ugh) and have lived 10 of those years in Hot Springs Village, Ark and 7 years in Jonesboro. I love it here now, they don't pick cotton anymore they have a machine that does that for them.
Your Aunt Earnie and I have been best friends forever and she lives just down the road in Bay, Ar . We do a lot of shopping together, and eating at the IHOP. My only daughter lives here in Jonesboro and she is my Rock. And Jodi ,you are certainly my pebble and so much more, I dearly love your girls, Brennah at 17 years old and Kelsea at 13.
I really don't think you all want or need to know of all my illnesses and aches and pains so I will not bore you with them.

Jodi's your PEBBLE???? What am I? Sandy gravel??? Pea gravel? How could you forget moi! ...oh, I know, we don't want Donna to know, right?

Well, everyone ....here it is, Ain't Aud is the "godmother" of the clan. Always there with good sound advice, no nonsense, and you get no rebuttle with her. It's her way and that's that! You got a problem and want a straight answer, go see Aint Aud.

If you got a problem and need a little sympathy...someone to tell you not to be so hard on yourself, and someone that will pat you and say everything will be okay, go to Aunt Shirley.

If you want someone to make you laugh at your problems, and then fill your belly with good good food, go to Mom, (aka Aunt Earnie).

If you want to forget you HAVE any problems, get with AUD SHIRLEY & EARNIE and go shopping! There are shopping pro's! (and so is sister Debbey-don't think she EVER paid full price for ANYTHING)

Well cuzins....that's the scoop. Fill you in on more later!

Aww c'mon Sandi Aunt Aud is being kind because I lean on her so much--you know that. She's the Matriarch-with-the-Mostest! Where would I be without Aunt Aud to help me understand the world and explain MTV to me? She's taught me not to say "hooking-up" in casual conversation and Lord only knows how I would embarrass this family without her fashion advice--she once caught me on the way out of the house having forgotten to change out of my pajama top! Rock on Aunt Aud, I'm so proud to be your pebble...heck I'd be over the moon just to be your grain of sand. I love you soooo much!

It's okay, Jodi, you can have Aunt Aud for now, I got to hog her when I was little. I still talk about her mink coats, her yearly Cadillacs that she only traded in finally for a Honda Prelude, and her her cool condo that I still love to drive past when we go to Chicago. Aunt Aud is the really the coolest Aunt ever. The only things I ever truly missed when our house burned down when I was a Senior were the things from Aunt Aud - Suzie the Effanbee doll, found in a friend's attic, that I probably never should have actually played with, but was so cool to have at Aunt Aud's - she did finally lose her cry and her 2 front teeth, but she looked so cute in Teddi's old red velvet Christmas dress and tights... and the tri-colored gold ring which was the first REAL ring I ever owned that Aunt Aud handed down to me. Everytime I get tired hanging out with my nieces and nephews, I remember how cool it was to be at Aunt Aud's place and I want to be the same way for them.

Okay....you guys, settle down. We all know Aint NAUD has been there for ALL of us! Lord knows what I would have done without her and Bob during Jack's surgery. They saved My life! It was the only time I got to shower and put on make up. (and you all know what happens when I don't have on make up....for those of you that don't know, let's just say I've made a few babies cry). yep NAUD, you're the best. We love you.
Sandi (but I love you the most)
