Yehaw! It's Friday, so as ya'll have come to expect (sorta) it is time for me to check in and see how silly I can be!!
Ok, I am outta silly stuff, so I'll get on with the update....
I just learned that Alyx will be on the homecoming court this year!!! whoooooooooooohooooooo
I dont know yet if she is the Senior representative or the Queen... I am crossing my fingers and hoping she is the Queen... it am just so excitin!!!
Tomorrow, we will travel 40 miles or so for a volleyball tourny with Alyx, then as soon as that is over we will race on over to Big Rapids to watch Julaine's boyfriend play college football. They one by one point last Saturday, blocking the opponents field goal attempt as time expired... what a hoot!
We can rest up on Sunday :-), hopefully it'll rain all day and I can watch football without feeling guilty for not working in the yard.
Well, summer is almost over. I am hopeful that folks start posting more frequently. I'll try to do my share (now there's a surprise eh? lol)
well, be good & be safe
love ya'll
I'll let ya know more when I do

Hey me, Happy Friday to ya! We LOVE FOOTBALL!!! We'll be thinking about you when we watch the games! What college does your daughter's boyfriend play for? We're trying to get Jodi more involved in football. I think she picked the Bears as her team. Of course we back the Titans but Cloud likes the Colts too. We went to a Titans game and I think I like watching it on t.v. better.Have a great weekend!
Geez Deb, don't you have some shopping to do when football is on? I just can't seriously take you for a football watcher.
Well, every9ne needs something to do, Bob even has me excited over volley ball and the basketball games at ASU. Go figure..
Hi Aint Aud! I don't like to shop on weekends. I like to shop when everyone is at work and the store employees are not grumpy. Nothing ruins a good sale like a smart aleck or lazy sales person that makes you rip them a new one(if you know what I mean-and I think you do). We watch basketball too, you know the Tigers did really well last year. We watch a lot of sports and the Olympics-jeez- we never got any sleep! We went into a state of depression when it was over.Jodi and I thought we would never have anything else to talk about when it was over.
Hey Orrin,
I gotta tell ya, I absolutely love to hear your stories. You definately got that from the Ladd men. Uncle Pete, Uncle Jim and yes even your daddy, always had a great story to tell. We always would laugh at them. Even the 2nd, 3rd, 4th.....times that we heard them. I'm glad that trait still goes on. I'm sure you've heard stories from your dad, again and again. I think they find a story that they like and stick with it. You know how to tell a tale (story).
Love ya for it
Donna
Ya Know Donna,
Jack tried to tell me that I told him the same joke during the reunion, four times.... now aint that hard to believe??? Well, not so much as it turns out. But I do come by it honestly, it would seem. LOL
Julaine's boyfriend plays for a Division 2 school, Ferris State Unniversity. He is a back-up defensive end and snaps the ball for field goals and extra points. The starting (left) defensive end injured his ankle early in the game, so Joe got to play almost the entire game. He had a couple solo tackles and assists, it was great hearing his name called over the PA system. It was a low scoring game Friday, we won 14-0. It rained on and off all thru the game, fortunately we had ponchos and dry towels to upon which to sit. To be on the safe side however, we injested moderate quantities of adult beverages before, during and after the game.... just to stay warm dontcha know?!
So it wasn't too bad. I managed to hang with the kids till just after midnight (back at Julaine's place), then my lights went out... and the kids all went out and closed the local pub. But I did make it up early the next morning and kicked out a bunch of my "world famous" omelettes. Y U M M Y
Ferris is now 3-0 for the year, I am hoping that they break into the top 25 this week for Div. 2. Next week, they will play Grand Valley, who is currently ranked #1 in the nation for Div 2. That will be a tough game.
Then there is "my" team, the Detroit Lions. You don't know how many times I have asked myself.... Why couldnt I have been raised in Wisconsin?!? &b$#@(!
Sheesh, after going to halftime down 21-0, they teased me again by taking a 25-24 lead with 7:41 left to play in the fourth quarter.... so what do we do then? Well shucks, after stopping them for a field goal, we throw 3 straight interceptions that are all returned for touchdowns and lose 48-25. It is truly suprising that I have any hair left, seems I am pulling it out every Sunday afternoon.
Rah Rah Rah,
The last time the Lions won a championship, it was 1957, the year before I was born, it was also the year before the AFC came into existence.
I am thinking that they wont win another championship until I die. I suppose that that would be fitting, to have to go to heaven to watch the Lions win the big game!
Oh well, there are so many more important things in life... can hardly wait till next Friday to find out if Alyx is voted the homecoming Queen, that would be so exciting!! She is such an impressive young lady... pretty, intelligent, fit, and she has such a wonderful and giving heart. What a queen she would be!
Off to work for me.
I hope ya'll have a wonderful day and week.
bye for now
Orrin
Be SURE to let us know about Alyx! WE know SHE should get it!
I'm glad yaw are all over the football thing....but I'm kind of like Earnestine--I would just as soon stack b b's verses watch football on tv!!! I might like to go to a real one, but not if it's cold, rainy, or too hot and sticky. I don't shop either, so I'm wondering if I know how to have fun!! (shut up Debbey...don't say a word). Any way, as I was saying, not into sports. Maybe I should be, seeing as it is nearly 3am and I'm on the 'puter!!!
Not to worry tho, because I'm THINKING about having some fun. Don't know just what, but I'll find something. Maybe I'll just go sit on one of those benches at the mall and watch people. ??? I've heard that was pretty entertaining! Or maybe I'll shop on EBay!! Now THAT'S fun!
Orrin....keep us happy about Friday's. It's your job now. Don't forget it!!
Love, Sandi
p.s. I think you gotta get close to party time to get everyone talking again. That seemed to stir things up last time!!
p.s.s. Lil bro Jimmie hasn't been on line cuz his mother board went out. He didn't even know anyone wished him happy birthday. I had to recite it to him. Po' guy. Can you imagine no computer???? ugh!
