Laddapalooza 2009!

Well, I thought I would talk about procrastination but let's do that later.

I think it's a great time to talk about a Ladd Reunion for 2009. Last year about this time, more or less, Jodi got this blog going and it really took off and brought us all together for the most wonderful time. It seemed to go so fast from the Fall to suddenly being July and the reunion.

Therefore, I am thinking we should start planning for the next one and have some thoughts on that. Since there are so many of us and life has a tendency of getting in the way right when you want to have some fun it's probably not realisitc to expect everyone to be able to show up every year. With that being said, I really believe we should try, with all of our hearts, to do this on an annual basis and who ever can make it will make it and we will look forward to the next year to see those who didn't make it.

What I loved about this past reunion was the simplicity and did not go over the top. It allowed us plenty of time just to talk and connect with each other and just fall in love all over again with this wonderful family of ours. The time of year seemed to be the easiest for people to schedule around and I loved that it was held at the old Ladd Cafe in Bay. It just seems like the perfect setting for a Ladd gathering. I really like the full kitchen in the back, all of the booths, the two large rooms that allowed people to meander from one side to the other. If it is at all possible I would love to see us have it there again in 2009. It just seems so appropriate to see so many Ladds come together in our "home" state. We have such rich history there. I live 1,823 miles away but I can't wait to do it again!

I think it would be great to put together a planning committee and get started on generating ideas for another fun filled time. I for one will volunteer to help with this effort in any way that I can. I've heard talk that a talent night might be a good theme and I think that is awesome. We have such a talented family this could be vastly entertaining and another way to get to see the diversity of the Ladd bunch. It just so happens that I can touch my nose with my tongue. But, then again, maybe all yaw can do that too so I'll think of something else. Orrin can fart the Star Spangled Banner and you really don't want to miss that! I can squirt Cheeze Whiz through that gap in my front teeth at least ten feet. Yeah, I know, it's hard to believe. I'm not braggin' here, I'm just sayin', America's got talent and you need to see this! (Don't forget appropriate eye protection)

So, let's hear from everyone and see if yaw think we can pull this together again!

I love you all, Sarah

I totallly agree. Not everyone will be able to make it every year, but at least they will know there will be one every year in case they can make it!

I'm game for anything but the star spangled banner coming out of Orrin's butt. Orrin? Is this true, or do your siblings just pick on you? And Sarah, now that I think about it, I'll pass on the cheese whiz too! But I'm sure there are plenty more things you guys can do!! Yep....let's do it. The Cafe is already reserved, but it doesn't have to be there if some others prefer something else.

Ready...set....go.....!!!

Alrighty then!!! Sign me up, mark me down and give me an assignment.

As for the talent competition, Sarah you must have CRS! I DID NOT do that to our National Anthem. Dang that is a tough song just to sing with a good voice. Which I do not have. The song that I farted away on was DIXIE!!. Get your facts straight sister.

I didnt realize how talented I was with that ole butt trumpet till a few years ago, when I let go a whopper. 19 seconds and 4 octaves.... the dog left the room. Man O Man, I smiled the rest of that whole day. But I did miss my dog for a few days after that. He wouldnt come near me for a week. Of course I did spend that week in the pole barn. Happens every year after that burrito festival. The girls wont let me in the house. It does have an upside however, cuz it rids the pole barn of pigeons and groundhogs. Funny thing tho, a pair of skunks did take up residence soon there after. Cute little rascals they are. They dont hold a candle to the king tho! Ummm, ya'll would be well advised not to hold a lit candle to the king either.

Well, I am all over that 4th of July thang. As luck would have it, Perry (where I live) has this awesome burrito festival the last week of June. Two years ago, I set a new record for the most spicy burritos consumed in a 20 minute timespan. I am sure that I could get a dozen extry and keep em in the fridge, stop and nuke em on the way down to AR, have one every time I stop to stretch my legs or for gas (no pun intended).

I am so looking forward to seein ya'll again. Ya'll should draw straws to see who gets to hug me first. The first one is always the best! I am sure that I will be primed and ready for a solo by then. All requests will be considered... Maybe blue suede shoes?
It does pay to loosen up the pipes before a big performance. It DOES NOT pay to stand behind me though when I get that first big hug. It may mess up a hairdo or two. Yikes, and smokers really should not be allowed within 42 yards.

Well, back to work for me. I miss all ya'll. I'll be savin up for the 4th. I might try to put away a couple bucks too.

Stewin in my own juices,
Orrin

that's pretty bizaar Sarah. Jodi and I talked about a talent show about three weeks ago and Jodi and I already have an act! Orrin you scare me a little. I think we'll change your nickname from grey fox to old fart.

Okay Orrin....ya got ME skeered--and I live with JACK! You two will have to split up and stay on separate sides (for safety)

As for Debbey and Jodi...uh hum did yaw forget someone? Did I cease to be a sistah? Thanks alot. I'll remember the two of you in MY act! No mercy either. Stories I've kept locked away are about to be loosed! .

Well shucks. Maybe I had better reconsider my "talents", skip that wonderful burrito festival & take some singin lessons or brush up on my yodeling. Perhaps a fishin contest?

Dang, ya'll get skeered way to easy. Afraid of a little thunderbunns. Sheesh, I was even gonna forgo the lightnin!

Ya know Sandi, them two kinda left you out there in left field all by your ownself.... I think a good story would be inline. Dontcha think?

Surely that was a typo... and you meant to say investigator! Yeah, that's what I am thinkin.

I hope that all is well, for everyone.
