Here I is! lol

It was a very busy week, and weekend. Volleyball tourny Saturday till 4:00, then I had to golfing with Deb's dad. sheesh, I get no rest at all! We golfed till it got too dark to see. I still dont know why they dont put lights on those golf carts.

and to make matters worse, I had to get up agin Sunday morning, do some chores and after the frost burned off, I hadda go golfing with him again! Can ya believe the way that they are treatin me?

I tell ya what, we shoulda started backin out of this horse business a long time ago!

Dave (Deb's Dad) and I did get a deer blind thrown together for him before we trudged out to the golf course... one of those pop up units, screwed down to a hay wagon, it works great that way. The deer are used to the hay wagons being out back, and with the wooden sides on them, it makes for nice cover.
I will one again be relegated to hunting from "the announcer's booth" back by the horse arena. It isn't easy, but someone has to do it. The booth is 10' x 12', sits ten feet off the ground, fully enclosed ('cept for the window openings), with a rough counter on the three sides with window openings... I will sit out there on opening morning (Nov 15) with Julaine and Alyx. OH, and a heater.... with blankets clamped to the wall studs that wrap around our backs, over our shoulders.... dont want all that heat gettin away!!! There will be hot coffee and hot chocolate, along with snacks and goodies for the girls, spread out across the counter.... It was so funny a couple of years ago, the three of us were out there opening morning, the temperature was in the teens, so pretty brisk, the heater does a nice job of keeping us warm for the most part, but since heat rises, our feet dont benefit much.... Alyx was moving around a lot and making noises shuffling her feet on the wood floor, so Julaine shushed her a couple times, then.... to lighten things up a bit,
Right as Alyx was sipping her hot chocolate, I let a big ole buck snort rip.... ok, I pooted, anyway, Alyx laughed so hard that she blew her hot chocolate out her nose,,, we still laugh about that to this day.

I am really looking forward to deer season this year, it starts on a Saturday, so Julaine will come home from college for the weekend, and the three of us will be up at in the booth by 6:00 am, waiting for the sun to come out, counting the report of shotguns far in the distance.... I will have the ole muzzle loader ready for one good shot, actually, it is a Thompson Black Diamond with a 4x9 Leupold that has yet to miss a heart shot at 150 yards.... dang that is a straight shootin gun. We cant use rifles this far south, only shotguns and muzzle loaders. Julaine is kinda skeered to shoot it, but hot dawg, Alyx can keep in in a 3" group at 50 yards. Ok, there is my update, dont want Debbey thinkin I fell off the roof and broke my typin hand.

I hope that you all are well, and that the Lord smiles upon you with another wonderful, and wonder filled day.

Love,
Orrin

What a coincidence. I've been dear hunting to! I had my sights on this nice buck, about 6'2" and 220 lbs, brown hair and blue eyes. Makes a girls heart go pitter pat. Then all of a sudden one sneaks in through my blind spot when I wasn't expecting it. Talk about a looker! My oh my! Then of course we've got plenty of the latin type out here and they are definately easy on the eyes. Hola Guapo! Between the cowboys, oil riggers, surfer boys, and motorcycle jockeys a gal can get a serious case of whiplash. But, it's all good. Yep, dear season is fast upon us. Time to start layin' my traps.
