Hi everyone: I see we have all gotten back into our routine and we're not meeting here very often. I still think about you guys all thet ime and all the fun we had at the reunion but I just don't take the time to come in here and write someting. So here I am now!!
Francis said thank you all for the birthday wishes. He had a great time....he went on a drift boat fishing up north with one of his sons and caught a 24 lb salmon and an 8 lb steelhead (a record for that area). I was gone the entire week-end at a Mary Kay retreat, so he was on his own and fishing...what more could a man ask for?? No don't even go there.......lol
Mom isn't doing well...she was in the hospital last week. Now along with everything else, she has congestive heart failure (at early stage) so she only has to take lasix for that and she has an irregular heart beat (so more meds for that) but the worst right now is she has 2 huge ulcers that were bleeding and we have to try to restrict her diet. She hardly eats anything anyway. She has lost so much weight. She was at 188 in March and is now at 140.
Francis and I do manager to get away once in awhile. The lady that helps us is so good and my mom loves her. So we try to get away once a month for a week-end. Probably won't do that in December because everyone gets so busy but Jan I have a 4 day meeting in Phoenix and then the first of Feb., we're going on a cruise...can't wait. You guys all know how I love cruising. We're leaving out of Galvaston and going to some ports in the Western Caribbean.
okay, now that's my story, so would love to hear from all you!
Love ya all,
Evona

Francis congratulations on catching a big fish! I'm guessing that is a good thing. My prayers are with Aunt Tressie and both of you for your excellent care.
Not much new here. The rainy season has begun and of course with all of the recent wildfires now there is all kinds of anxiety about mud slides. I never understood mud slides when I lived back east, until I saw one cover up about 20 homes with people inside, etc. They are still covered after ten years. Mud is no joke out here!
I'm still going to school and should finish my paralegal certificate in another semester (two classes left!) Yippee! I'll be tickled to finally be able to draw a paycheck again.
Well, that's my report. Who's next?
Evonna, thanks for the update. So glad you two are taking time out of the schedule to enjoy life. We all are at the stage when we realize just how quickly it passes, huh?
That's wonderful that you have found someone to help with your Mom that she likes, and you don't worry about. I'm sure it helps with a little of the stress.
Sarah? WHY would anyone want to live in all the conditions California has to offer? (u 2 Evonna). Earthquakes, mud slides, fires, and TRAFFIC. ??? yuck. But I guess it's what you get used to. Yes...we deal with tornado s but at least you get a little warning! And you can't beat the traffic here!
Although I'm sorry Aunt Tressie isn't feeling well, I'm happy to wish Cousin Francis a happy birthday! Congrats on the record fish!
I'm so sorry to hear about Aunt Tressie. She will certainly be in my prayers. You and Francis do a wonderful job taking care of her Evona, you both have such good hearts.
On a happier note, congrats on the big catch Francis. Did you you use your mad cooking skills to make a delicious dinner out of those fish?
And Sarah, wayyy to go! I'm so proud of you!
Thanks Jodi. Yah,....I know.....I rock....uh huh....
(it's been murder!)
