Got Snow?

Hi Everyone,

We're thankful that everyone is ok, when we heard tornadoes hit Arkansas, we were worried about all of you. We too are being hit by this winter storm, but in Chicago that usually means snow. Yesterday the kids were told in school that there was a 95% chance that today would be another snowday, but the temperatures stayed right above freezing so the snow the kids hoped for, fell as rain instead. Today, though, 10-12" is predicted. Cindy said in Milwaukee they got 8-9" yesterday with another 10" coming today! All this is on top of the foot of snow we got last week-oh, well, that's life in Chicago.

I've been trying to get caught up on all the old posts, and noticed that alot of people have been asking about Gabby. Well, he is doing fine, his health is not as bad as was posted. He'll joining in on the blog, too, probably in a few weeks.

Well, gotta go, it's lunchtime and I need to go warm up the car and brush the snow off, (again!)

Love, Diane

When I moved here everyone said "don't you miss the snow?". I thought they were all crazy until I realized they don't actually know what real snow is. If it snows here everyone drives the same speed and wonder why they slide all over fortunately it usually melts after about 4 hrs. The other side is the tornado season which can occur anytime in a 12 month period- and no one has a basement. Go figure. You can bet Juky 4th will be very very warm so be prepared.

I'm glad Gabby's doing fine. I know for a fact that he is computer literate so...c'mon now...let's hop to it!

That's awful about all that snow. I remember what a challenge that can be as well as the fun of getting down inside your socks or shoes, etc.

It's been horrific here. Just the other day I went outside and my hair blew completely off of my part and tossled my bangs. I couldn't believe it! AND, I had to put on a jacket because my tanktop just wasn't keeping me warm. Knowing my luck I might have to turn on the heater in my car when I head over to the tanning salon tonight.

Go ahead and brag about California weather....just hang on when those tremors hit!
I sure remember the bad Chicago winters. I remember one time Jimmie jumped out of his 2nd floor bedroom window into a snow drift and we thought we lost him forever. But he surfaced. In 68 (yeah, I said 68), it was so bad no one could find their cars.
One time when me and Cathi skipped school it was so cold...and we had to pee...well, we found someplace to "releive", and I swear, the pee froze in mid air. We honest to goodness had PEECYCLES!! Cathi will no doubt want to recall this, but it happened. I know that I know what I know! And I know I don't miss that cold! (I do miss the snow at Christmas tho).
Glad everyone is okay, and Diane, thank you for letting us know about GabbY. We will all look forward to hearing from him.
Love, Sandi

Welcome Diane. I hope all is well & glad to hear Dad is doing better. What's it been -- about 14- 15 years?? Way too long.

Your family looked beautiful. How in the hell are you & Tim Grandparents??!!! Where does the time go!

Anyway...I'm really glad you joined in. I miss you.
