Well, Fay can't seem to make up her mind. Do I stay or do I go? (is that in a song?)
We faired ok. We had some water come through our front door. It rained so hard and the winds were crazy. They were at 65 mph. Hurricane's start at 74 mph for a cat 1. This is the first Tropical storm my new house has had to deal with, and she didn't like it real well. Besides the rain water in the front door, we lost a branch off an orange tree. That's not a real big deal though. We (Keith) has some minor clean up to do today. Our pool has to be drained. It can't take another drop. We didn't pool our patio furniture in it this time. Keith hauled it out to the shed.
We thought for a while we were going to have to head for the safe room. When you are on the east side of the storm, tornado's are really active. A little town just east of us had 51 homes damaged. Glad it missed us, but so sorry for them that lost so much. Anyway thanks for prayers, they kept us safe.
Love ya'll

Orrin
hey glad ya'll faced down another one without incident ptl. we are getting lots of rain from the south. been raining all day. bummer on the old bones too,
stay well, love ya, aint aud
you THOUGHT you were going to have to go to the saferoom???? Girl! You would have had to drag me outta there!! In fact, I'd probably STILL be in there! Those safe rooms are so neat. Wish we had one here. We have a storm cellar in the back....but I ain't gettin' in it! It would really be nice to just walk in a closet built for these things. All the new home buildings are including them now. Well, so glad you updated us, and that you are all safe. Sorry for all the work Keith has ahead of him! Did those horrible sticky green tree frogs get in the house? (yuck!) I know it rained frogs here one time.
Love you all! Sandi
Glad you're all okay..I love the idea of the "safe room" can they make those for earthquakes too?? Probably not! lol Hey, Sandi, earthquakes aren't so bad, they only last a few seconds. It's over before you have time to get scared. In all my years in Calif, I only remember 4 earthquakes. So come on out here and let's party!! And Donna & Dave didn't you two say you were coming out to calif??? that was 3 years ago now. Would love to see all.
I spoke to your Mom & Dave, who filled us in. Glad everything is ok.
You are too funny -- We (Keith) had some minor clean-up today!
PS -- Lisa sends he love too!
and she wasn't kidding when she said "we (Keith)" ...!!!
Of course I was(n't) kidding. Keith is so good about things like that. He is definately my go to guy for cleanups. You outta see when the cat pukes. It's a known fact in my house....I don't clean up anything that comes out of an orafice. When the dog pukes, Keith has to get the dust pan. He's allowed to complain the whole time he's cleaning, but then has to drop it when he's done.
It makes the marriage work, What can I say.
Love ya'll
Donna
So glad to hear that all is well down there.
Please tell me how that clean up arrangement came into being...I need to get Brent to sign one of those contracts. In addition to the not cleaning up stuff that comes out of orafices, I will want to put something about him getting rid of insects and anything considered a "critter" in this part of the world.
Please advise.
Love, Jodi
I don't know how Donna did it, but for me, I just walked around it!!! Still do. Jack's always been good about that stuff...AND bugs and critters. When he worked nights, we had a problem with crickets. Lori and I were both scared of them, but we mastered the technique of putting a drinking glass over them (so they couldn't go any where). One night Jack came home to 8 glasses in the floor. Bad thing was I would throw the glasses away after they trapped the crickets and always be short of matching glasses! You have to be careful not to knock the glasses over tho....(we also can't stand to hear them crunch, so he has to take them outside. Flushing them isn't good, cuz if they survive they could jump up your butt!!!! (just thought this would be good information to share on a blog!)
The old cricket up the arse trick huh? Well that's a nice thought, and here all I thought I had to worry about coming back up the toilet were snakes and gators.
