Hot dam, so it am!!

I am feeling so much better too. I came down with a flu bug Monday, stayed home in bed Tuesday & Wednesday.... so unlike me. Normally I would trudge on into work and get everyone else sick. Instead, I headed off on my 72 mile commute to work Tuesday morning, and stopped at a rest area along the way because I couldnt keep my eyes open, fell asleep and woke up two hours later and then called the office and told them I was headed back home.

But I feel so much better now! It is good to feel good.

I just submitted my bids for the monthly MDOT bid letting, will be checking back in on their website within the hour to see if I got lucky.

It was a nice drive into work today.... 30 degrees warmer than yesterday.... it was all the way up to 18 degrees! Whoohoooo!! almost tropical, downright balmy

NOT

Did any of you used to watch Big Time Wrestling on TV as kids? If so, (and I know Sarah remembers) do you remember The Shiek? I never knew it, but he was the "owner" of Big Time Wrestling.... he passed 5 yrs ago at the ripe old age of 79.... just south of us in williamston. His "mansion" has been converted to a bed and breakfast called Wheatfield Inn. That is where Julaine and Joe will get married in 2010. There is a decent website, but it doesnt do it justice.

Not much new here otherwise.... havent been snowmobiling, skiing, polar bear swimmin, ice fishing, bunny huntin or nuttin. Sheesh, I am gettin boring in my old age.

Oh yeah, but I did make a cool snowman Sunday.... while grilling up some ribs for the Super Bowl, it got up into the mid 30's so I made a nice snowman on my deck. Maybe I aint so boring after all.

I never would have thought that making a snowman would be the highlight of my weekend. Someone save me!! LOL

Seriously though, I have stayed busy on the weekends pushin snow on to keep neighborhood drives open, moving round bales for the horses, and diggin up & replacing the yard hydrant in the barn cuz it froze up and the neighbor busted the darn thing.... just my luck

Sandi, you never let me know if y'all need some generators down that way, if so... give me a holler.

OK, someone else take over... If I keep on jabbering, I will put all y'all to sleep and then noone will make a post.

bye for now
love,
Orrin

OH! guess I missed the one about the generators!! The city went to Mississippi to get enough to keep the water and sewer running, and as of today, I think Jimmy is the only one without electric! lol! Seriously, there are still many in rural area's that don't have electric yet. I'll tell ya what tho, after this happened, as soon as generators get priced on clearance (if they ever do), I bet a ton of people will buy and keep 'em around! We have lots of summer storms when the electric goes out, so I'm sure they would be put to use year round. Jimmy said he is going broke tryin' to keep his running all the time, but that God all next week it will be in the 50's. You should think about moving somewhere where the winters are not so cold!!!!

As for the big wedding, make sure we all get invites. We don't want to be "the wedding crashers", and you know darn well there are plenty of people in this family that could pull it off!!

It would be cool if we could all plan to be there. I'm going to really try.

As for the snowman? Sorry old man, you are having withdrawals ....your mind needs grandkids, and you are probably dreaming of a boy. (I know you don't want one before the right time.....but your brain just needs one!!!). It's true. Nothing in the world like grandkids. One day you'll see.

Glad you feel better. Hi to everyone else. I just got my wireless fixed and I can finally sit and read while Jack memorizes Fax news!! BTW, is it a done deal to meet every year, or is it going to be every other year???? Doesn't matter ....we have the cafe when ever, just wondered what the count was. I know it can be expensive making long trips.

Love to All!

Yep, the flu's been going around and it sucks! I got it in December and had a little relapse yesterday. All plugged up and cranky. Well, I actually don't get very cranky but I do have my version of it where I talk in one word sentences. Yup.

I do remember the Shiek and the old days of Big Time Wrestling. I also remember several occasions where Orrin body slammed me in the living room and did a Flying Fred Curry pile driver. Jeez, I am so glad he grew out of that!

We've opened a new law office in a town about 30 miles from home and it is working wonderfully. It is interesting to note that my office used to be occupied by Paul Anka. And yesterday I heard a bunch of music coming from the first floor and the receptionist told me that Don Henley was downstairs testing some equipment. We got to hear an impromptu version of Hotel California! Pretty cool.

That's my checkin!
