Yeah, I can be ohhh so corny

I just caint help m'self

I hope Dennis & Jim will sing it next year!

THE BALLAD OF THE LADD CAFE

Come and listen to a story about a clan named Ladd
They wanted to get together, oh so bad
Then one day the girls put it all together
So we headed south in hot muggy weather
(Reunion that is, smiling faces, happy hearts)

Well the first ya know there’s a party goin on
Kin folk huggin & tellin stories till dawn
Said “Arkansas is the place ya oughta stay
Ya’ll load up yer trucks and move down to Bay”
(Arkansas that is, cotton fields and & Ladd’s CafĂ©)

Too soon it was time to say goodbye to the Ladds and all our kin
We just can’t thank you enough for letting us drop in
If we’re invited back again to this locality
We’ll need extra days, but that’s a formality
(Laddbillies, that’s what they call us now,
Great folks!!! Y’all come back now, ya hear?!?)

Oh man, I had to wait until I stopped laughing so I could type. Then I went and called Debbey to tell her to read it.

You're nuts Orrin!

Toooo funny! Laughed out loud for real! Did you really think that up by yourself? I laughed all the way thru it...and surprisingly, didn't even have to wonder what "tune" to put it to! I couldn't read it without playing the tune in my head. You are a "hoot"! LOL! A man of so many talents! I'm so glad we now have our own theme song! Wonder how THAT will go down in history??? ....now don't scare your girls from coming down!!!

Jack didn't have his glasses, so I sang the song to him. He laughed the whole time (sorry he had to hear it in MY singing voice). He said that was really good --as he continued laughing, then he said, "ask Orrin if he knows any cowboy jokes"? .....

Orrin, you can just keep adding to that song. I hope we can ALL come down to the next one. Thanks for this "theme" song.
