Since we don't seem to have a date locked in stone, I was wondering....

Would it be possible to have the reunion over the 4th of July weekend, instead of Labor Day? Aside from purely selfish reasons, the kids will be out of school -- which might allow for a day or two extra for some. Plus we'd get to see everyone a bit earlier!

My family will make September work but it would be a little easier for us in July. If that screws everything up, feel free to tell me to shut the hell up and delete this post! :)

That sounds fine to me Cory. I called Sandi, Debbey, Aunt Aud and Vicki and they said the July 4th weekend would be fine with them as well.

One good thing about that time is that the 4th falls on a Friday, so it's going to be an extra long weekend.

If we can get an OK from the other folks planning to come, we can start making some firm plans.

Good suggestion!
Love,
Jodi

It works just as well for me. I'm flexible.

the 4th of July would actually work better for me, as Labor day is the last weekend of summer stuff up here... .and I usually button up my mother-in-laws place before she heads south for the winter ... but I can work with either weekend

I'm really sorry if this is throwing anyone's vacation off. Every Labor Day Weekend we have a fest, about 4 blocks from our house. It's kind of a big deal, especially for Mr. Dylan. There's a carnival, bands, fireworks, and of course.... a BEER gardern! We always get together with our neighbors and grill out. Later, we typically hang out in someones yard / deck, and watch the fireworks show. We're so close it's like they go off in our back yard! If anyone's in the Illinois area, at that time, come on over!! I promise it'll be a good time!

So far, the 4th of July seems to work for most -- howz about we put it in stone???

What about the youngsters like Mandiva, Vicki, & Corey??? Does the 4th work for you? And where have you guys been???

Okay, it's a done deal for me. 4th of July in Arkansas, then everyone to Illinois to Cory's! Yeah! ...anyone else that hasn't answered, you have until Sunday...high noon to appeal. I'll start writing the Family Ordinance now so it will be ready to post!

Sandi it worries me the way you repeat yourself. It makes me think by the time your 60 we'll be hearing the same story over and over again. (like that doesn't happen already). Go get some gensing or something. Who luv's ya!

do the fish stories get better with each retelling?

Just a bunch of “wise guys” I’m tellin’ ya! The scoop is….I’ve got wireless internet, and sometimes it is too slow using the ol lap top (uh hum….that the council so graciously agreed to buy for me), anyway, I get tired of waiting, so I start hitting buttons. After all, by now you all know how I LIKE to push buttons. I would THINK Miss Joodee would help a sistah out here and delete one for me……and I'll also have you know I've been TWO days without my hormones...MISS GENSING!

I want to take a trip up to Saddler Creek and visit the church and the grave site, so if anyone else is interested I would like to do it on Sunday so we could get in the church.

I MIGHT consider going, but only if there's a group of us WITH cell phones. The last time I went with Sandi all I remember is a group of lonely hillbilly men and somebody having to climb the telephone pole at Mr. Drucker's store to make a phone call.

Jodi, I agree, that was a crazy trip, But there is safety in numbers! I'm ready to go absolutely anywhere anyone would like to go! I'd like Saturday evening to be just a family get together with some family singing--all ages!! (promise I'll be silent for that), as long as Cory doesn't EGG me on! Do you all think getting together in the old "Ladd's Cafe" sounds good? If some of you would rather meet at the lake, we can arrange that too, but I'd like to be close as possible to Mom in case she wants to cook!! We need yaw to tell us want you would like to do, or the hometown team will just do it and give you the iternary when you arrive! OOOOO....if we have time, maybe we could have a "who done it" party with dinner. Whattayathunk? Anyone???? ORRRR...even better, we could play "who done it" at the cemetary! cast your votes Ladds!

We're pretty good with whatever... It's been close to 40 years since I've seen most of you -- and some I have yet to meet. Anything we're doing will be fine with me & my family.

Being close to where Aunt Earnie can cook can't be a bad thing. Eating is a favorite pastime of mine!

We have a conference that starts on July 6th - crazy time, I know, but will have a couple of days before hand. I don't want to go to any cemetaries anyway.
